AFC and Hudl Team Up to Globalise Scouting with Five-Year Wyscout Deal

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced a major five-year agreement with performance analysis specialists Hudl, granting global access to scouting content from its full calendar of national and club competitions. The deal positions Hudl’s flagship platform, Wyscout, as the exclusive scouting partner for AFC competitions through the 2028/29 season, significantly enhancing the visibility of Asian talent across the global football ecosystem.

Under the agreement, Hudl will collect and distribute video and data from all AFC-sanctioned tournaments, including the AFC Asian Cup, AFC Women’s Asian Cup, U23/U20/U17 championships and flagship club events such as the AFC Champions League Elite and Women’s Champions League. Scouting footage will be made accessible through Wyscout’s comprehensive, on-demand database, which is widely used by professional clubs, agents, federations and analysts worldwide.

At the core of the initiative is Wyscout’s robust suite of video and data tools. The platform offers full match replays, individual player clips, interactive match timelines and detailed performance analytics. Users can access positional heatmaps, pass maps, event breakdowns and comparative player statistics, all within a collaborative interface designed for scouting, recruitment and opposition analysis.

For the AFC, the move represents a significant step forward in aligning with global best practices for player visibility and data accessibility. By integrating its competitions into Wyscout’s infrastructure, the Confederation aims to elevate the profile of Asian talent and provide a more efficient, technology-enabled pathway from domestic competition to international opportunity.

Hudl already supports six of FIFA’s continental confederations and the AFC partnership further extends the company’s footprint across global football. With elite youth competitions included in the agreement, the platform also offers scouts earlier access to emerging talent across both men’s and women’s pathways.

The partnership is expected to accelerate talent identification and raise the scouting value of AFC competitions, many of which have seen a rise in quality and competitiveness in recent years. For professional clubs outside the region, the deal provides a seamless way to track players, compare profiles and make data-led decisions about recruitment in a market that has traditionally been underexposed.
