Former New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has teamed up with George Barrios and Michelle Wilson, founders of boutique investment business Isos Capital Management, to launch Isos7 Sports Investments.
Anthony, a 10-Time NBA All-Star, said he would leverage his experience as an athlete, entrepreneur and investor, and his deep relationships across the sports ecosystem, to move to the “next level of league and team ownership opportunities globally”.
Barrios and Wilson said they expected sports assets to continue to benefit from “global macro tailwinds” which would help drive “significant, predictable and stable growth”. They said they had a “shared vision” with Anthony for how a new wave of diverse investors would identify global growth opportunities. The fund is targeting investments at the cross-section of “content, community and commerce”.
Anthony was also co-founder, with Stuart Goldfarb, of Melo7 Tech Partners, a venture capital firm which invests in early-stage digital media and tech companies.
