FairPlay invests in WagerWire to take prediction markets into sports media

FairPlay Sports Media has made a strategic investment in WagerWire alongside a distribution and technology partnership designed to place prediction markets inside established sports-media products.

The Bruin Capital-backed group will market and integrate Wire Markets across selected brands and its wider media network. That portfolio includes Oddschecker, WhoScored, SuperScommesse and Confido Network, giving the platform access to audiences already researching odds, teams and match outcomes.

Wire Markets aggregates available prediction-market order books and routes trades towards the best available price. The platform has received approval in principle from the Government of Gibraltar under the jurisdiction’s dedicated framework for prediction markets. It is the second business to receive that designation.

WagerWire said the partnership can ultimately reach more than 100 million monthly users across over 45 regulated markets. The first phase will connect FairPlay’s content, data and comparison tools with the trading platform. A later phase is intended to add WagerWire’s secondary-market functionality, allowing users to trade existing sports-betting positions where permitted.

The transaction extends FairPlay beyond affiliate media and odds comparison into the infrastructure connecting audiences with regulated event contracts. It also gives WagerWire a distribution route through sports brands with existing consumer traffic and first-party data.

The parties did not disclose the investment amount, FairPlay’s ownership percentage or the commercial terms of the distribution agreement.
