Manchester City Collaborates with Quidd to Introduce Digital Collectibles and Fan Experience

Manchester City has embarked on an innovative venture into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital collectibles through a newly announced collaboration with Quidd, a prominent digital collectible platform.

This multi-year partnership aims to introduce a collection of Manchester City-themed NFT trading cards, offering fans a unique and immersive experience with football memorabilia.

Quidd will serve as the exclusive platform for fans to acquire these distinctive digital assets, unlocking a range of special benefits such as merchandise, hospitality tickets, and unforgettable experiences. Michael Bramlage, CEO of Quidd, emphasised the significance of the collaboration, describing it as a move to revolutionise the realm of sports collectibles.

Tom Boyle, Vice President of Global Partnerships Marketing and Operations at City Football Group, expressed excitement about the collaboration's potential to transform traditional football memorabilia collecting in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.

The partnership's inaugural offering will comprise over 200 customised player cards, set to be released on May 2 via the state-of-the-art Quidd marketplace. To mark the launch, the first 10,000 Cityzens (Manchester City fans) will receive two free packs and exclusive access to additional "For The Fans" packs within 72 hours of release.

Cityzens who unlock digital rewards through the Quidd packs will also have the chance to participate in real-world events and purchase opportunities, including official Manchester City merchandise, hospitality tickets, and exclusive experiences like attending a first-team training session at the City Football Academy.

This initiative aims to engage fans in a novel digital collecting experience while rewarding their loyalty with exclusive perks and privileges.

The partnership with Quidd represents Manchester City's latest venture into the NFT space, building upon previous initiatives that have garnered attention in the sports and crypto industries.

From commemorating historic club moments to empowering fans through exclusive NFT drops, Manchester City continues to push the boundaries of innovation and strategic partnerships in the sports sector.

Manchester City's presence in the NFT space aligns with its broader commitment to innovation and fan engagement. Previous initiatives include collaborations with PUMA for NFT drops commemorating significant milestones and celebrating women's football.

Quidd's partnership with Manchester City adds to the club's impressive roster of global sponsors, contributing to its record revenue during the 2022–23 Premier League season.

Notably, this collaboration marks Quidd's second partnership with a professional football team for themed trading cards, following a similar venture with Newcastle United last month.

Manchester City's initiatives in the NFT space reflect its proactive approach to innovation, creating new avenues for fan interaction, revenue generation, and engagement.
