Arctos Partners has agreed to acquire a 10% interest in the Atlanta Falcons at an enterprise valuation of US$10.6 billion, extending the investment firm’s growing position across the NFL.

The valuation implies that the stake is worth approximately US$1.06 billion, although the final transaction price has not been officially disclosed. The investment is expected to be completed in two stages over the next 18 months and remains subject to NFL approval, with owners expected to consider the deal in October.

It has not been confirmed whether the full interest will come from Falcons owner Arthur Blank or include shares held by other limited partners. Blank, the co-founder of Home Depot, bought the franchise for US$545 million in 2002 and currently owns just under 73%.

If approved, the Falcons will become Arctos’ fourth NFL investment. The firm already holds minority positions in the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns. NFL rules allow approved private-equity investors to acquire non-controlling stakes of up to 10% in individual franchises and invest across multiple teams.

The reported US$10.6 billion valuation is substantially above the US$8 billion assigned to Atlanta in CNBC’s 2025 NFL rankings. It also demonstrates how minority transactions are establishing new valuation benchmarks without requiring controlling owners to sell their franchises.

The Falcons would gain institutional liquidity while Blank retains operational control.
