BeIN Media Group has extended its exclusive media rights to broadcast the Australian Open across 24 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) until 2029. This renewal cements beIN Sports as the leading destination for tennis in the region, continuing a partnership with Tennis Australia that began in 2018.
The new agreement will begin with the 2025 tournament, scheduled for January 12 to 26, and cover the next four editions of the prestigious Grand Slam. Tennis fans in the MENA region can look forward to uninterrupted coverage of the Australian Open, including qualifying rounds and lead-in events organized by Tennis Australia. The deal also includes enhanced access to all 15 match courts and introduces 4K broadcasts from the iconic Rod Laver Arena.
BeIN MENA CEO Mohammad Al-Subaie expressed excitement about the extension, stating, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Australian Open to 2029. BeIN’s coverage of the Southern Hemisphere’s only Grand Slam dates back to 2005, and this milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing our viewers the best of international tennis. We look forward to delivering five more years of high-stakes competition, incredible performances, and unforgettable moments from the sport’s top-ranked players.”
Tennis Australia Chief Commercial Officer Cedric Cornelis echoed the sentiment, noting, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with beIN, a long-term valued broadcast partner of the Australian Open. This extension means the Australian Open will continue to find new audiences globally and that beIN subscribers can enjoy watching tennis in its most exciting form.”
BeIN Sports has long been a hub for tennis enthusiasts, providing comprehensive coverage of all four Grand Slam tournaments, including Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open, along with a variety of ATP events.
The Australian Open, held annually at Melbourne Park in Victoria, is celebrated as the most-attended Grand Slam, with the 2024 edition attracting over 1.1 million spectators, including qualifying rounds. With this renewed partnership, beIN ensures that MENA viewers remain at the forefront of world-class tennis action for years to come.
