The Friedkin Group is seeking new investors in Everton less than two years after completing its takeover of the Premier League club.

The US group, led by Dan Friedkin, acquired Everton from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024 in a transaction worth approximately £331 million, including the repayment of more than £250 million of club debt.

The Friedkins are now exploring the sale of a significant minority stake while retaining majority control of Everton. The group also owns Serie A club AS Roma.

Everton’s latest accounts showed revenue increased to £196.7 million in the 2024–25 financial year, while its net loss fell to £8.6 million. The Friedkin Group has also secured long-term financing for the club’s new stadium with JPMorgan.

Everton moved into the 52,769-capacity Hill Dickinson Stadium for the 2025–26 season. The waterfront venue has been developed to generate revenue beyond Premier League matchdays through hospitality, dining, international sport, boxing and other major events.

The investment process follows a record summer of spending across the Premier League. Clubs collectively spent €4.1 billion during the transfer window. Everton spent €103 million on players while generating €129 million from player sales.

The club’s current shareholder register lists Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited, part of The Friedkin Group, as holding 99.5% of Everton’s issued shares. Dan Friedkin, Christopher Sarofim and Jason Kidd are also listed as holding equity interests in the club.
