Ferrari gives fans more AI with IBM

IBM has added a new layer of AI-powered features to the Scuderia Ferrari app as both sides continue to push fan engagement deeper into the Formula One experience. The latest updates include AI-generated race recaps, daily stories, interactive historical insights, polls, AI-generated audio summaries in multiple languages and a redesigned Race Centre. IBM says more features will continue to roll out through the 2026 season. The broader idea is straightforward: use AI to turn the Ferrari app from a largely editorial product into something more personalised, interactive and habit-forming for a global fan base.

Teams and leagues have spent years building apps that functioned mainly as content containers. Ferrari and IBM are pushing toward something more adaptive, with AI used to personalise the experience, surface richer context and help fans feel more connected to the team across the season. That matters because fandom is increasingly measured not just by reach, but by repeat interaction, time spent and the quality of the first-party relationship. Ferrari is one of the strongest brands in world sport, so if even Ferrari believes it needs to make the app smarter and more dynamic, that says something about where the category is heading. The next stage of sports fandom will not just be about having content. It will be about how intelligently that content is packaged around each fan.
