FIFA has announced two major sponsorship deals for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, confirming Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Qatar Airways as official partners for the inaugural 32-team edition. The tournament, which will be held in the United States, from the 15th June to the 13th July, is set to become a key global showcase for elite club football, with these sponsorships underlining the growing strategic influence of Gulf nations in the sport.
As one of the most active investors in global football, owning Newcastle United and driving Saudi Arabia’s domestic league transformation, PIF’s involvement deepens its alignment with FIFA’s long-term commercial and competitive ambitions. It also reinforces Saudi Arabia’s broader push ahead of its bid to host the 2034 World Cup.
Qatar Airways, meanwhile, extends its established relationship with FIFA following its high-profile role as a key sponsor of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Its addition ensures that multiple Gulf nations are represented among the tournament’s top-tier backers in this historic tournament.
Together, PIF and Qatar Airways join a roster of global sponsors that includes Coca-Cola, Visa and Lenovo. Their involvement provides essential commercial backing for a competition that features a record-breaking $125 million prize pool. Each participating club will receive a guaranteed minimum of $9.55 million, elevating the tournament’s financial significance for teams around the world.
Beyond funding, PIF’s partnership encompasses commitments to grassroots football development, digital fan engagement and tournament innovation, all of which are central to FIFA’s goal of expanding the game’s global reach. The sovereign wealth fund will also support strategic content partnerships, helping FIFA target new audiences across emerging football markets.
