Fuse launches in Dubai

Fuse, Omnicom Media’s global sport and entertainment marketing agency, has launched a Dubai office as it expands its presence across the Gulf. The business already had a foothold in Saudi Arabia, but the new base gives it a clearer regional platform at a time when demand from brands is rising across sport, entertainment and culture. Danielle Barwick has relocated from London to lead Fuse Dubai, and the agency says the local team will offer end-to-end services spanning commercial strategy, rights consultancy, insights, effectiveness, events, activation, creative strategy, PR, design and talent management. Omnicom has also positioned the move as a response to a regional market that is becoming increasingly important for major events, with Formula 1, Saudi Pro League, boxing, UFC and esports all contributing to the opportunity set.

International networks tend to follow demand, not create it, and a dedicated sports and entertainment operation in Dubai suggests the Gulf is now important enough to justify specialist capability on the ground rather than remote servicing from Europe. It also points to a market where sports marketing is becoming more sophisticated. Brands increasingly want more than sponsorship buying; they want strategy, activation, measurement and integrated cultural relevance around the events and properties growing in the region. Fuse’s move captures that shift neatly. The Gulf is no longer just a place where sport happens. It is becoming a place where the commercial craft around sport is being built, staffed and sold in-market.
