Genius and Croatian Basketball Federation Score New AI Partnership

ree

Genius Sports has signed a new partnership with the Croatian Basketball Federation (CBF) to deploy advanced AI-enabled tracking, analytics and broadcast technologies across national leagues and competitions. At the heart of the deal is Genius Sports’ proprietary platform GeniusIQ, which captures real-time data on player and ball movement through automated tracking cameras and integrates video overlays, allowing coaches, fans and media to access richer insights.

For the Croatian basketball system, the collaboration offers an opportunity to modernise infrastructure, extend global reach and deepen commercial potential. The installation of tracking systems enables the CBF to enhance scouting, performance analysis and broadcast output - and to deliver a better fan experience through data-rich content and visualisations. From Genius Sports’ perspective, the partnership is another affirmation of its strategy to equip national federations with tools that merge performance data, media rights and fan engagement into an integrated technology stack.

Practically, the rollout means top-tier Croatian games will now feature advanced metrics - player speed, spacing, defensive rotations - as well as enhanced broadcast overlays to appeal to viewers, sponsors and platforms. For global media and analytics markets, the significance lies in the replication potential across other federations and sports; the CBF deal may serve as a template for how AI-driven tracking becomes standard rather than premium.

Overall, this alliance illustrates how sports technology companies are shifting from providing isolated performance tools to delivering full ecosystems of data, broadcast enhancements and fan-centric value propositions. Genius Sports’ use of AI tracking with Croatian basketball is a definitive step in that direction.
