NBA App Upgrades for Customised Fan Engagement Experience

The NBA is on a mission to extend fans' interaction with the sport they love, leveraging its mobile app to bridge the gap between game viewing. With these enhancements, fans can personalise their app experience by adding multiple team and player tabs to their main screen, granting them access to a wide range of content, including real-time news, trending topics, vertical video highlights, and updates concerning their favourite teams and players.

A novel "Moments" feature now allows fans to seamlessly browse through a limitless stream of NBA content using a vertical, social media-style interface reminiscent of popular platforms like Tik Tok and social media reels or stories.

Sarah Crennan, the NBA's Head of Direct-to-Consumer Content, expressed her optimism, stating, "We believe that this social presentation of content will significantly boost engagement." The NBA App will offer over 10,000 additional hours of programming designed to entertain fans, featuring shows such as "NBA CrunchTime," the league's weekly whiparound show; "Race for the NBA Cup," which provides access to the inaugural in-season tournament; and "Coaches Corner," where NBA coaches analyse plays and offer insights. Additionally, a new daily newsletter called "Starting 5" will feature contributions from current and former NBA players and coaches.

Crennan emphasised, "We aim to engage you weekly, even daily, and hope you return multiple times a day. These new features underscore our commitment to achieving this goal."
