Oak View Group (OVG) and Ethara have proudly added two iconic venues to their portfolios: Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi and the House of Sustainability (formerly the UAE Pavilion) in Expo City Dubai. This expansion, part of the 2023 announcement under OVG Middle East, marks a significant milestone for the partners as they continue to shape the region’s venue and hospitality industry.

Jessica Koravos, President of OVG International, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion, stating:

“We’re excited to bring OVG’s portfolio to the region with these two unique venues under OVG Middle East. Zayed Sports City boasts a rich legacy in hosting world-class sporting and entertainment events, while the House of Sustainability offers a visionary approach to sustainability and design in Expo City Dubai. This expansion reflects our commitment to providing bespoke venue solutions and exceptional experiences across world-class facilities throughout the region.”

David Powell, Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer of Ethara, highlighted the strategic value of the partnership:

“Ethara’s history includes operating some of the region’s most iconic venues, such as Yas Marina Circuit and Etihad Arena. By integrating Zayed Sports City and the House of Sustainability, we’re poised to meet the evolving demands of the industry under OVG Middle East.”

Zayed Sports City is a cornerstone of Abu Dhabi’s sports and entertainment scene, featuring a wide array of facilities, including the Zayed Sports City Stadium, International Tennis Centre, and Ice Rink. The venue has hosted major events like the Mubadala World Tennis Championships, FIFA Club World Cup, and UAE National Day celebrations. Upcoming highlights include four Coldplay concerts in January 2025 and the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open in February 2025.

The House of Sustainability, formerly the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, embodies innovation and sustainability with its iconic design by Santiago Calatrava. It offers 8,000 square meters of exhibition space and continues to be a focal point for sustainable initiatives in Expo City Dubai, showcasing its ongoing relevance as a hub for architectural excellence and environmental responsibility.
