SURJ, Live Nation and Oak View Group launch Radia to build Saudi Arabia's sports and entertainment venue ecosystem
Saudi Arabia has taken another significant step in its ambition to become a global sports and entertainment powerhouse with the launch of Radia, a new joint venture between SURJ Sports Investment, Live Nation and Oak View Group (OVG). The company has been established to develop, operate and commercialise sports, entertainment and live event venues across the Kingdom, supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 strategy and its rapidly expanding calendar of international sporting and entertainment events.
The partnership brings together three organisations with complementary expertise. SURJ Sports Investment, backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), provides the investment platform driving the Kingdom's sports sector. Live Nation contributes its expertise as the world's largest live entertainment company, promoting more than 50,000 events annually for approximately 145 million fans worldwide. Oak View Group, one of the leading venue developers and operators globally, manages a portfolio of more than 400 sports and entertainment venues and has delivered projects worth over US$20 billion across North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Radia will oversee the full lifecycle of venue development, from planning and design through to operations, commercial strategy and long-term asset management. Its remit includes venue operations, premium hospitality, sponsorship sales, food and beverage, fan experience, event programming and commercial partnerships, creating a fully integrated platform for sports and entertainment infrastructure.
The venture arrives at a pivotal time for Saudi Arabia, which is preparing to host the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, the 2034 FIFA World Cup, Formula One, LIV Golf, the Esports World Cup, world championship boxing and an increasing number of international concerts and entertainment events. Rather than simply investing in venues, Saudi Arabia is now building the expertise required to operate them as commercially successful, year-round destinations.
The creation of Radia reflects the next phase of the Kingdom's sports strategy. Having successfully attracted many of the world's biggest sporting events, the focus is shifting towards creating a sustainable sports and entertainment ecosystem capable of generating long-term economic value. By combining international operational expertise with significant domestic investment, Radia positions Saudi Arabia to become one of the world's leading markets for venue management, fan engagement and live entertainment over the next decade.
