Aldar Takes Title Rights as Rory McIlroy Returns to Abu Dhabi

Aldar has expanded its relationship with the DP World Tour by becoming Title Partner of the Abu Dhabi Championship, with Rory McIlroy also confirmed to return to the UAE for the season-ending Play-Offs.

The tournament will become the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship and takes place at Yas Links from 5-8 November. The leading 70 available players on the Race to Dubai Rankings will compete, with the top 50 progressing to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai the following week.

McIlroy's return gives the announcement significantly more sporting weight. The reigning Race to Dubai champion is chasing a record-equalling eighth season-long title and has finished runner-up in Abu Dhabi four times.

Aldar's move into title sponsorship builds on a relationship that began in 2025, when the Abu Dhabi group became an Official Marketing Partner and Official Real Estate Partner of the DP World Tour.

There is also a direct property connection: Aldar owns Yas Links, which has hosted the Abu Dhabi Championship since 2022.

Yas Links has hosted the Abu Dhabi Championship since 2022. The tournament is the first of the DP World Tour Play-Offs, with the leading 70 available players on the Race to Dubai competing before the top 50 progress to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
