Alex Morgan’s Trybe Ventures Takes Lead New Women’s Golf League

Alex Morgan is making another bold play in sports investment, this time stepping firmly into the future of women’s golf. The former U.S. women’s national soccer team star and co-founder of Trybe Ventures has been named the lead capital investor in the Women’s Team Golf League (WTGL), a highly anticipated indoor simulator golf competition developed by TMRW Sports in partnership with the LPGA.

The WTGL, set to launch in winter 2026–27, is designed to mirror the successful TGL format, co-created by Rory McIlroy & Tiger Woods, that has revolutionised golf engagement by blending team competition with technology-driven experiences. As lead investor, Morgan’s involvement not only brings crucial capital but also significant visibility and credibility to a league positioned to reshape women’s golf. Her Trybe Ventures firm has been proactive in sports and entertainment investment, and this latest commitment further underscores its strategic direction in women’s professional sport.

League organisers describe the WTGL as a platform where top female golfers will compete in a team format using state-of-the-art indoor simulators. Backed by the LPGA’s growing momentum and TMRW Sports’ operational experience, the WTGL aims to build fan engagement in new ways while tapping into a broader audience that includes younger and digitally native sports consumers. Morgan’s backing is seen as a significant vote of confidence in that vision.

Morgan herself has long advocated for growth, equity, and innovation in women’s sports. Her presence in the WTGL investor roster  which features other high-profile female athletes and cultural figures  amplifies expectations for the league’s commercial and competitive prospects. Analysts point to her dual role as an investor and ambassador as a key advantage in expanding sponsor interest, media coverage, and overall market excitement ahead of the WTGL debut.

Industry observers expect Trybe Ventures’ lead position to accelerate discussions with corporate partners and broadcast platforms eager to be part of the league’s narrative. With the 2026–27 season on the horizon, the WTGL’s blend of technology, team competition, and star-power involvement positions it as one of the most intriguing developments in women’s sports this year.
