MLB Partners with Sportradar to Revolutionize Talent Scouting Across All 30 Teams

Major League Baseball (MLB) has entered a groundbreaking multiyear partnership with Sportradar to transform how its 30 clubs scout amateur talent. Leveraging Sportradar's Synergy Coaching and Scouting solution, the collaboration marks a significant leap forward in performance analysis, utilizing advanced technology to deliver unprecedented insights into the next generation of baseball talent.

The agreement significantly expands Sportradar’s event coverage for MLB, growing from 3,300 games annually to more than 20,000—a remarkable 600% increase. This includes data from college baseball, international competitions, professional partner leagues, and leading amateur showcases such as the MLB Draft League, Appalachian League, MLB Develops events, and, for the first time, top high school tournaments.

At the heart of this partnership is Sportradar’s Synergy Coaching and Scouting platform, which uses AI-powered sports performance technology to analyze millions of data points from video footage. The system generates detailed metrics, actionable insights, and dynamic visualizations to help MLB scouts evaluate players more efficiently. This enhanced analysis will guide draft decisions, streamline the talent evaluation process, and support the development of future MLB stars.

“Sportradar’s cutting-edge technology, alongside our reputation as a trusted partner to leading US sports leagues, is driving the transformation of sports performance analysis,” said Eduard Blonk, Chief Commercial Officer at Sportradar. “Through Synergy, we are proud to deepen our partnership with MLB, equipping all 30 clubs with the tools they need to identify and develop the next generation of players.”

John D’Angelo, MLB’s Senior Vice President of Amateur and Medical Operations, emphasized the value of the collaboration, noting, “We are excited to expand our relationship with Sportradar and ensure equal access to the Synergy video and data services for all 30 MLB clubs. This platform has become a key resource in domestic and international scouting, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”

By integrating advanced analytics and video insights, MLB and Sportradar aim to redefine how talent is discovered and cultivated. This partnership underscores MLB’s commitment to innovation while providing its teams with a competitive edge in identifying the stars of tomorrow.
